A ZERI certified practitioner and promoter of the Blue Economy (theblueeconomy.org), he has traveled to over 40 countries researching dozens of projects and learning from leaders in the field. He has led workshops on design and technology solutions for over a decade, giving over 400 presentations including MIT, Yale, the United Nations University in Tokyo and many other venues. He currently collaborates with a variety of entrepreneurs and organizations, helping guide the transition to a more ecologically literate society.
Brandon has been commended for his work on energy related issues as an “Energy Patriot” by Senator Lugar and as Indiana Green Business “Entrepreneur of the Year” 2010. He has a strong focus area of water/energy and has helped dozens of projects along including being contracted to develop a plan to take a large municipal waste-water treatment plant off-grid through a suite of integrated technologies (anaerobic digestion, algae, solar). Brandon is Senior Advisor to the Sustainable Energy Program at the Ivy Tech Craig Porter Energy Center in Lafayette, IN, and co-owner of SELX, INC and of Magnificent Mushrooms, a commercial growing operation for gourmet and medicinal mushrooms in southern Indiana.

He serves as Business Development Manager for Realhemp LLC (a subsidiary of Stevia Corp.) and was the head designer and developer of the Realhemp™ Store and product line. He is passionate about healthy eating and exercise and understanding how society can better benefit from plant derived medicines. The interest spawned from being close with his father who was a lead toxicologist for a local hospital and veteran gardener who constantly educated him on the power of medicinal plants.
Scott McKay is a motivated public safety professional with 14 years of emergency management with hazardous situation and fire prevention experience. Quick learning and easily adaptable, He is skilled in public education efforts with an extensive focus on fire safety and prevention. For the past year he has been an active volunteer for the Indiana Hemp Industries Association and has been working closely with several in-state businesses to advocate for the legal growing of industrial hemp. His primary focus has been the development of safer and non-toxic building materials and fire fighting uniforms as well as the use of natural fibers to be used in furniture and carpeting manufacturing.
In 2013 he was awarded the American Legion district 5 firefighter of the year for his efforts in public safety and education that went above and beyond the duties of his position. He has been the mascot of the Kokomo Fire Dept for 7 years as “Sparky the fire dog” and has helped children all around Howard County learn about fire safety. At the end of 2014 he launched the Hempmark Facebook page and Twitter account and because of those efforts was given the opportunity to become a page administrator and editor for the National Hemp Coalitions Facebook page.
His passion for Industrial hemp began after learning the possible negative effects of synthetic fibers and building materials on human health and safety. Scotts motivated and positive attitude have been the cornerstone to his success not only in the firefighting business but also in his passion to see industrial hemp used as a safer clothing and building material. Scott also has an extensive military background with 3 years active duty Navy and 3 years in the Indiana Army National guard. Through all of his adventures in life he has seen the need for more efficient and cleaner safer materials and he will continue to focus on how hemp can be integrated into sustainable healthy living.
Middle school teacher turned Mycological Entrepreneur, Eric Osborne, M.Ed, is CEO of Magnificent Mushrooms LLC and Myco-Meditations in Paoli Indiana. He is one of the few Indiana State recognized and privately insured Wild Mushroom experts and sellers. Eric has studied, practiced and taught gourmet cultivation, identification, culinary applications and ethno-mycology for more than ten years. He is interested in the integration of hemp as another healthy protein and researching benefits of adding hemp into his mushroom cultivation practices. Father of two, Eric’s passion is bringing more nutritious mushrooms into the diets of families everywhere.
Neal E. Bennett is an Environmental Scientist and licensed Professional Wetland Scientist. He is formally a Restoration Ecologist with the National Park Service. He has expertise in watershed management, water quality, and aquatic and terrestrial habitat assessment. He has designed numerous stream, wetland, and floodplain habitat restorations along with numerous “green” storm water projects in urban environs. He specializes in restoration ecology, water resource management and wildlife studies. Neal has been a guest lecturer and instructor at several area universities regarding ecology, water resource management, and sustainability.
Neal is also the co-founder and current president of Green Broad Ripple, Inc. GBR is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization created to initiate sustainable projects within the Broad Ripple community of Indianapolis, which work to build community and economy. Neal’s passion is to use his knowledge of natural systems as a template for sustainable solutions for the human environment and is excited to see what opportunities hemp has to help this mission.

Justin is a product of Indianapolis, where he earned a degree in social studies and education from the University of Evansville on a basketball scholarship. Following five years experience as a psychology and U.S. history teacher at a college prep school, Justin began a job as Director of Marketing in the early phases of Recreator Hemp Apparel. Recreator is a lifestyle brand, merchandising service and eco-friendly print shop based in Los Angeles.
Justin serves on the board for the Indiana Hemp Industries Association (INHIA) while also working on grassroots hemp advocacy and developing hemp research pilot projects with multiple universities in Southern California. Justin’s skills include education, writing, blogging, research analysis, branding, photography, digital marketing strategies, search engine optimization (SEO), E-commerce development and hemp product sourcing. For the last two years, Justin has harvested hemp at Loflin Farms in Springfield, Colorado.
